From the Press Release for the 2002 International Vesak Festival:

Hundreds of Buddhists from temples representing countries all over the world, including Cambodia, China, Japan, Korea, Laos, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tibet, the United States, and Vietnam will be gathering to celebrate their holiest day of the year, Vesak.  During the celebration, a large gathering of monks, nuns and lay people from the larger Washington community will make offerings of flowers and incense, and chant traditional prayers in their native languages and in English. There will also be lectures, workshops, and guided meditations given by Buddhist teachers from around the Washington, DC metro area.

Coinciding with the Vesak celebration will be a cultural show featuring traditional music and dance from many of the cultures represented.

Both will be held at Blair High School on Saturday, May 25th.  The religious ceremony will be held from 8:30am to 11:30am.  The cultural show and lectures will continue from 1:00pm until the closing ceremony at 3:30pm.  All are events are free of charge.
